以前にかなりのやっつけ仕事でゲーセンっぽいおもちゃでミニゲーセンをつくってあそんでいたのですが

部屋の片付けをしていたらバーチャコップとスペースハリアーの筐体のおもちゃを発見したので

勢いだけで再度ゲーセン作りをしてあそびました

全体図！

なかなか大きさの合うフィギュアがなかったので苺ましまろの密度が高いです

あとのフィギュアの選択は自らのどうしようもない趣味が反映された結果です

ひとりでニヤニヤしながら使用するフィギュアを部屋中探し回るのが超楽しかった！

かなり内側に向かったエネルギーを使った！

左側っぽいとこを接写したもの

左からバーチャファイター２、ファイティングバイパーズ、２度あることはサンドアール、ゲイングランド

よくみるとアストロシティとニューアストロシティの2種類の筐体があるところがポイントです

あと奥はバーチャコップとビートマニア4thMIXになっております

律×澪でキャッキャウフフです

右側っぽいとこ

スペースハリアーとなんかドライブゲームっぽいもの、あとNEWUFOキャッチャーの筐体です

そして奥はDDR2ndMIXになっております

このUFOキャッチャーをプレイする人だけなんかやけに躍動感溢れる感じになっております

I'm such a dork..

But my new favorite "show" the guild started off it's new season...hilarious :-)

While I've definitely had my fill of MMO's in my life..this game turned me onto the big one..(World of Warcraft)..while they don't actually play WOW int he game, this show made me want to join a quirky guild like this and have crazy adventures over Ventrillo and Text...

Not only is this show cleverly written and geared @ dorks like me, it's also co-produced by Kim Evey, from Gorgeous tiny chicken machine show, another one of my top fave web-shows. If you haven't seen...gotta check out the episode w/ Ron Jeremy!

I think anyone who's ever played online gaming or been around our fellow nerds in line for Expansions, Consoles or games can relate to this episode.

My first memory of standing in line was when I was just a child and I begged my dad for Super Mario Brothers 2.

Rewind back to September 1, 1988, San Diego, CA..toys r us... We were second in line with hot McDonald's. When the store opened all of us in line made our way to the game section and purchased the game. I went home and played till my thumbs hurt...Most recently, I and a few friends hit the Wii Launch Event @ citywalk in hollywood..an 8 hour line adventure for the Wii Console.

Big ups @theguild, I'll be tuned in all season! :-)

You know my ps3 is special. Similiar USED ps3's go for AT LEAST $450-$500. Our landlord guy wants a ps3 like mine. Let him know that $400 would be a GOOD deal. If he doesn't want it, format the drive by going to Settings>System>Format Utility. You can say it "comes with the latest firmware software" to help market it on the internet. In case you don't know, it's the special "100% backwards compatible" (60 GB) ps3.

Tiki Bar TV DVD Release Party 12-4-08

I went to the Tiki Bar TV party last night in North Hollywood. Located at a little place called the Tonga Hut which was true TikiBar Style...

We walked in to it being open bar (until 10:30) and there was a mad rush @ the bar. They were featuring 3 of the drinks from previous episodes

..and DAMN..I forgot the last one..sry...

They were...damn good..and damn strong...we switched it up to Bloody Mary's..and woo...I was gone..and sweatin!..lol

We picked up a DVD and Tiki Shot glass (25 bucks total), and even got Dr. Tiki to sign it..heh!

We wandered around the bar introducing ourselves (we seriously knew..no one..lol)..I met the cast (not Johnny Johnny though), as well as the Amtrekker (Really cool..pic coming soon) and of of the minds behind Hack College.

All in all great night..and big thanks to Tiki Bar TV and their new sponsor Dolby!

how do these work with the game...plz..someone explain this to me like I'm 2...I was told that the old drums will work with the new game..but if the new game has cymbols...I just don't get it..

Well...

Another era has passed..and one of my favorite quirky shows on the Internet (and Rev3) was cancelled..

Internet Superstar...hosted by Martin Sargentt and Jay "gator" Speiden

I'm saddened to see this go..personally I didn't catch alot of "infected"..but Unscrewed (when on TV..), Web Drifter and Internet Superstar..were some of my FAVORITE shows...just due to the Quirkiness of them...

I remember years ago when living in San Diego,..then-gf and I drove up to LA to go see Unscrewed filmed live...which was a hilarious experience...(the Jimi Hendrix of the Ukulele), we got to meet Martin out front briefly..which was a treat, since he seems like a hilarious guy... someone I think my sick-twisted sense of humor could fly around...hahaha

well...regardless..I digress...

then came Web Drifter (for me that is)...and....I watched every episode religiously...(of course representing the Church of Tom Jones...)...I thought the idea was hilarious..and I sincerely hope that show can see a future...

I have to admit..the Peter Pan episode...still haunts me..hahaha..I love how Martin would completely go along with these peoples delusions to bring us their "hindsight" on their...whatever it is that they do....a few times it's so ridiculous you can't help laugh..(the guy who heals via sound..)

The Sexual Fetish shop, the super hero, the man who will live forever...(classic)...the sex toy manufacturer based in Amish country/aka Virtual Sex Machine...hahaha...all these episodes have been forwarded and referenced many times in my experience with Internets...

which brings me to Internet Superstar..

when this show started...I was enthralled...it was a spin off of the web drifter concept...highlighting Internet personalities...

brilliant!...the show was quirky and fun, sexy at times (gators gal) and above all entertaining..it was something to watch daily with lil Internet superstar...then a weekly big version with the dynamic duo..

I'm saddened I missed the live show w/ Mr Amtrekker...and all around..I'm going to be keeping up with www.sargeworld.com to see what Mr Sargent lands next...

What is sad to me is...one of the reasoning statements of letting the show go, was because it "Never found it's audience"...well...basically that show really was the one...the found me...so basically I just disagree with this cancellation...and I hope to see more from the Sarge soon...

Internet Superstar...you will be missed

Possibly the weirdest — and most seasonably appropriate — event that took place this weekend was Thrill The World, an international simultaneous recreation of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video that brought almost 5,000 people in over 70 locations worldwide together on Saturday. We've got pictures and video of the other legacy that Jackson gave the world, to make you jealous that you weren't taking part.

This year's Thrill The World consisted of 4,177 dancers in 72 cities across ten different cities - breaking the record of the previous year, according to the organizers:

Alright, my impressions....

Bitchin' song list. Definately fighting off being a good consumer and running out and buying it RIGHT THIS F'ING SECOND!!!!!!

Guitar is pretty fun, doesn't seem to deviate from what I remember on GH3, the concept of the "slider bar" is pretty neat, even if I never got to try it out myself.

Drums seem easier than in Rock Band, maybe it's just the cymbals or something, I dunno, but I was having a better time of keeping up with all the Activision peeps melting my face on Expert on guitar/bass.

Hey all,

Well last night j and I went to the BPM Magazine & SA Studios ACTIVISION SHOWCASE for XBOX 360 featuring Call of Duty 5 and Guitar Hero World Tour. This VIP event featured DJ sets by DEVLIN & DARKO (SPANK ROCK DJS), STRETCH ARMSTRONG and DJ HIERin Hollywood @ a club called "central" hollywood.

J actually arrived early..and I called him to hear him tell me "NO ONE'S HERE"..I said.."dude...just stand next to the door..and when there's a line..get in it.."

When I arrive 20 min later..there's a line down the block...lol

J is @ the front..hehehe..as well as I knew the door girl...NICE..

so...we are the first in the club..walk in to see a huge xbox 360 logo on the wall in front of 4 HUGE flat screen TV's..they were setting up Call of Duty 5 World at war..

we go upstairs, and there's 3 setups of Guitar Hero world tour...

we setup on the last one...and proceed to rock out until about 12...lol, we had some Activision employees who were rocking expert on alot of the songs (which I have to say is a VERY impressive song list....

I remember Playing Guitar and singing the "joker" (some people call me the space cowboy!)

We also did, Hotel California, Dammit, Crazy train, Schism, Pretty Vacant (I sang), eye of the tiger...

and a slew more..

we have more pics on my lovely gf's camera..which we'll be uploading around 4-5pm :-)

The game was alot of fun, alot of new features included, one that stuck out for me was the ability to pause, which difficulty, and quickly restart..while available in rock band...is a bit friendlier..

there...is no "no fail mode" but there is a beginner mode which allows you to just strum @ the very least and you won't fail out..but above all, we're interested..

Mari, anothony all tried out the drums with mixed reviews... James enjoyed them, mari think's she's too used to rock band...basically it's 5 pads to hit plus a foot pedal

It's a GREAT game...was definately something to reckon with Rockband...personally..I think I'll stick with rock band 1-2.. for the time being..but perhaps the rumored metallica GH game could sway me if I could play it with a full band...

since I know J will be buying this and I'll just rock out on his in the meantime..lol

Then there was COD5...

so..since I didn't get a hands on..I'm not gonna official pass yet...but

I didn't see all that much that intrigued me to STOP playing cod4....well I might be wrong..as I didn't get to actually play this one..but I sat behind and watched alot of people playing...

In regards to the game...DON'T get me wrong...the COD's I think are the top of the war simulation shooters..and I only shrug this one off because..I dug MODERN combat so much..so again..it's just a preference...those of you looking forward to recreatign a WW2 head to dead match..you are IN LUCK..

Think I saw some celebrities there...but I dunno who...so...it was fun..thx activision!

Well after too long, I finally got my iphone, which I'm 100% satisfied with..(ok..95%...I do want to get a 3g)...but regardless....the Iphone is awesome..

so we've all been looking to Google for their "comeback" since it is appearing that the Z-(zune)phone isn't coming..which I would be on board for..

While the handset comes with interesting features, like the quality Android OS, the OK 3G network and some useful applications, the unexciting hardware design and not-quite-there feature set stands out. There's no headphone jack, no multitouch and a half-baked App Store!

Personal Pod Transport Is Coming

The age of the pod car may finally be upon us.

Futurists have long predicted the day when we zip along in autonomous and electric monorail-like systems they call Personal Rapid Transit, and several projects underway in cities around the world suggest we soon may be freed from the bondage of gridlock.

"It's time we design cities for the human, not for the automobile," says Jacob Roberts, president of Connect Ithaca, which is trying to make the city in upstate New York the first pod-car city in America. The pod car, he says, "creates the perfect blend between the privacy and autonomy of the automobile with the public transportation aspect and, of course, it uses clean energy."

Pod cars are autonomous vehicles that provide on-demand nonstop travel on overhead tracks. Think horizontal elevators, or of the monorail at Disneyland. They carry two to 10 people, providing a level of privacy and security not found with traditional mass transit. Such a system, advocates say, also provide the convenience of automobiles without the hassle.

It's a cool idea that's been around for awhile but is only now gaining steam as rising fuel prices and environmental concerns have people looking for alternatives. A five-station PRT system in Morgantown, West Virginia (population 29,361) has ferried people between downtown and the West Virginia University campus since 1979. It carries as many as 16,000 people a day and has never experienced a major accident.

As is so often the case with greener transportation, Europe is leading the charge to make pod cars the next big thing. Sweden, in particular, has gone crazy with the idea. More than a dozen cities are planning pod-car systems as part of the country's commitment to free itself of fossil fuels by 2020.

"Today's transportation system is reaching a dead end," Hans Lindqvist, chairman of Kompass, the organization leading the charge to free Sweden from petroleum, told the Associated Press. "Something has to change. We aren't talking about replacing the automobile entirely. We are adding something else into the transportation strategy."

London is building a pod car system at Heathrow Airport called ULTra. The first phase of the project will carry passengers between a parking lot and the new Terminal 5. Passengers will wait no more than a minute for one of the 18 four-passenger, battery-powered pods to arrive and whisk them along at 25 mph on an elevated track 2.3 miles long. Closed-circuit television will keep tabs on the pods to prevent mishaps — not that officials expect any.

"The vehicles are big and robust and travel at fairly conservative speeds," Phil Smith, operations director ofAdvanced Transport Systems, which designed the network, told Flight Global. "And the events that could take place are incredibly benign. We have run them in all the conceivable weather conditions in the U.K. up to and including conditions when the airport would be closed."

Firms in Poland and Korea are running pod cars on large-scale test tracks, and there are plans to build a system for Masdar City near Abu Dhabi. Here in the States, Ithaca wants to make pod cars part of a long-term transportation program, and officials in Santa Cruz, California, have commissioned the design of a solar-powered pod system that would run between downtown and the beach.

Not everyone thinks pod cars are the future. Critics, most of them light-rail advocates, argue personal transportation systems are too expensive and complex to work on anything more than a small scale — say, on corporate campuses or airports.

"It is operationally and economically unfeasible," Vukan Vuchic, a professor of transportation and engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, told the Associated Press. "In the city, if you have that much demand, you could build these guideways and afford the millions it would take, but you wouldn't have the capacity. In the suburbs, you would have the capacity, but the demand would be so thin you couldn't possibly pay for those guideways, elevated stations, control systems and everything else."

He raises a valid point. It costs some $25 to $40 million per mile to build a PRT system, and in today's economic climate that's a price most cities or even states are not willing to spend. But compared to the $100 to $300 million per mile it costs to build a light-rail system, pod-car advocates counter, and suddenly pods look reasonable. They say it is only a matter of years before such a system is running somewhere in the United States.

So T asked for some help on the blog. He wants to branch it out a bit, and add more content. I saw the call come out over Twitter, and answered. I figure, why not?

This is the introduction. I'm Spinn. I'm a dad, a 16th year DJ, I work for a .com startup and also hold a nursing license. I guess you could say that I like to keep my options open. I also have a website. It contains a lot of random stuff relating to audio, gaming, social media and DJing.

I'll be posting from time to time, with a focus primarily on audio stuff. I do a podcast called The Audio Digest, which has no real schedule other than "when I'm ready to do one". How to avoid drunk e-mails...

Well, I too (t) have been guilty of sending e-mails...that..well...I shouldn't have..

little "precaution" is hilarious...it's a plugin for gmail which makes you solve a few math questions before sending an e-mail late at night....

Sometimes I send messages I shouldn't send. Like the time I told that girl I had a crush on her over text message. Or the time I sent that late night email to my ex-girlfriend that we should get back together. Gmail can't always prevent you from sending messages you might later regret, but today we're launching a new Labs feature I wrote called Mail Goggles which may help.

When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you're really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you're in the right state of mind?

By default, Mail Goggles is only active late night on the weekend as that is the time you're most likely to need it. Once enabled, you can adjust when it's active in the General settings.

Hopefully Mail Goggles will prevent many of you out there from sending messages you wish you hadn't. Like that late night memo -- I mean mission statement -- to the entire firm.

Wow...thats alot of legos...personally (t) I didn't get into legos that much when I was younger..I think my parents bought me the cheaper tyko blocks or something, which of course were lame..so I played video games...

But these guys...are SERIOUS with their legos...they built a tower out of 460k bricks which reached At 96.73 feet (29.485 meters).....could you imagine if it fell..lol I know J (the other geekerblogger atm) would go nuts...since he knows of stores where you can buy lego's by the brick..haha

At 96.73 feet (29.485 meters) this Lego tower built in the Rathaus Platz in Vienna has broken the world record for the tallest Lego construction in the world. It took nearly 460,000 bricks and it was built over four days. The views from the top are quite stunning.

The tower included 121 plates designed and built by 3,000 kids using 2 x 4 Lego bricks. The kids participated in the building process to celebrate 100 Years of the Friends of Children festival in Austria. The previous Guinness World Record was set at 96.13-feet (29.3 meters), last May in Legoland Windsor.

Clone Wars Starts tonite!!!

But Star Wars Clone Wars starts tonite...and I found a great lil blurb about it over @ I09, best thing is..we can watch it online..so I'll definately be watching..although..I have a horrible confession..I still haven't seen the movie yet...maybe this weekend..I can convince the GF we can go..hahaha

Clerks 2...had to do it

So in my last post I searched youtube for Clerks 2...if you haven't seen this movie...this scene..just made the movie for me..

As a star wars fan, I have to say I have felt a small rivalry to those geeks who fell in love with the rings series...lol..they never held my attention..actually put me to sleep to be honest..

I know they are great flicks and one day I'll marathon them all..but still star wars is my fave...

I understand they are reaching for the "Villians" type episode..but I feel this is a tad rediculous...I'm a big Fan of heroes, like many others..but I kind of feel they are taking what was once a great concept of a "comic book TV show" and strecthing it out to some epic saga...why do I feel that Noah's going to die...again?

We often hear from insiders that a still-in-development game is good, only to discover later that it's not so much.

So it was nice to hear the other day that DJ Hero, which certainly sounds to have potential, got an unofficial thumbs-up from celebrity DJ Paul Oakenfold who apparently loved the game.

While he isn't officially involved, I wouldn't be surprised if and when the game hits that he gets involved in some way, even if it's to just help promote it.

Recent Activision acquisition FreeStyleGames is hard at work on DJ Hero, a music rhythm game that will let gamers scratch to the beat of popular mash-ups with a laptop turntable peripheral, informed sources tell us today.

The game, which has been in development for nearly two years, is expected to hit shelves next summer and will likely include the ability to use Guitar Hero guitars for versus mode face-offs.

The controller, key to the game's success, has been through nearly a half-dozen iterations.

In the latest form, the device looks a lot like a simplified DJ Deck. There is a platter for scratching which will act like the strum toggle on a Guitar Hero guitar. Above the platter are three buttons for sampling. The controller also includes a cross fader and a sound effects dial which will act like the whammy bar in Guitar Hero.

Instead of flowing the musical notes down a guitar neck, DJ Hero will flow the music down and around a virtual record in a half arc. Either left top to middle bottom if you are left handed, or right top to middle bottom if you are right handed.

To play you will have to either hold a sample button and scratch, just hold a button or just scratch as the neon icons flow around the virtual vinyl.

Currently the wireless controller has grooves molded into the bottom so it will sit comfortably in a player's lap, though the team is also looking into legs for the deck so gamers can play while standing up.

The game in its current form features all mash-ups, think Beyonce Vs Jimi Hendrix, 50 cent Vs Beastie Boys. If they can nail the interface and get licensing for the music this could be a mammoth hit. Then again I love mash-ups.

For the release of Star Wars: Unleashed, there was an in-store event in which Mr. Lucas decided to bless with his presence.

SAN FRANCISCO--George Lucas was the "surprise" special guest at the official launch party Monday night here for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, the new video game that marks the latest chapter in the epic story line. And despite his only making a two-minute speech, most on hand were excited at the rare opportunity to see him.
Indeed, Lucas doesn't venture into public very often, so for many of the people who had come to line up to buy the new game when it went on-sale at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, his appearance and quick talk were a treat.
The event took place Monday evening at a Best Buy outlet in this city's Mission district, an odd choice of venues for the launch of what many have been calling one of the biggest video games of the year.
On the other hand, the place was packed, something that one store employee said was a very unusual occurrence. So, all in all, the energy generated may have been worth it for Lucas and his crew.

The new game, known by many simply as The Force Unleashed, is the first Star Wars game to be considered by Lucas an actual chapter in the overall story line that begins with the three prequel films--The Phantom Menace; Attack of the Clones; and Revenge of the Sith--continues with this summer's animated film, The Clone Wars and then, of course, concludes with the original three films, Star Wars; The Empire Strikes Back; and Return of the Jedi.
In the new game, the main character, played by actor Sam Witwer, is an apprentice of Darth Vader, and the story line centers on that apprentice's path to redemption.
The game is also highly anticipated because of two innovative technologies it incorporates.
First is a new form of artificial intelligence called Euphoria, which is designed to ensure things happen differently each time in the game, even if they begin the same way.
And second is what is known as digital molecular matter, a technology meant to bring more realistic consequences to things like a door breaking, or something smashing into a big piece of metal.
So on Monday, Star Wars fans were given the opportunity to be among the very first to get their hands on the game. But it was an unusual midnight-madness kind of launch event in that instead of having everyone line up outside the Best Buy first, everyone was allowed inside the store while it was still open in order to mill around, listen to MCs talking about the game, get autographs from the game's voice-over actors, and just get revved up.

No, those are not new Best Buy security guards. They're people dressed in stormtrooper outfits to celebrate the launch of 'Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.'

Each person intending to buy a copy of the game was given a numbered card and told that the card would guarantee them a place in line once the store closed.
As of 9:36 p.m. Monday night, just 24 minutes before closing, only 227 tickets had been taken out of around 1,000 that were available. And while it's not clear whether that means that interest in the game is lower than expected, it struck me as possible evidence that there wasn't massive amounts of interest in the game.
But a LucasArts spokesperson wrote me later to say that the number of available tickets had been arbitrary and that, in fact, pre-orders for the game had been high.

For Lucas, the event was an opportunity to show up, be seen by the faithful, and say a few words. Really, though, the only interesting thing he said was a line explaining that, "This is the first example of what we've been able to accomplish by putting (Industrial Light and Magic) and (Force Unleashed developer) LucasArts in the same building in (San Francisco's) Presidio," Lucas said. "So it was a great collaboration between the two of them."
However, he did not elaborate on that intriguing comment, and he was not available afterward for questions.
He also joked that his son had worked on the development of the game for a little while.
"He was the guy who put the bugs in the games," Lucas joked. "He put in 432. The testers only found 327. So for an extra 50 bucks, just send it to him, and he'll send you a list of the bugs he found."
For many of the fans who turned out for the event, the biggest excitement was getting a chance to meet some of the actors who made the characters in the story come to life.
One of them was Witwer, who spoke before Lucas showed up, and who got the crowd fired up by talking about his life as a Star Wars fan.
"I don't remember when I saw the first film," Witwer told CNET News. "It's just (always been) part of my life since I was recording memories."

Indeed, Witwer said that his deep knowledge of the Star Wars universe was a major factor in his being hired to play the lead role in the game.
He explained that when he auditioned, he was asked to play out a scene in which his character is assembling a light saber with his mind.
Witwer said he decided to play the scene as if it was a difficult task, and when asked by the game's director, Haden Blackman, why he was doing so, he answered that such a task for a Sith apprentice--which the character is, according to the story--would be much harder than it would be for a Jedi apprentice.
"At that point, Haden said, 'OK, this is the guy,'" Witwer said.
In addition to playing Darth Vader's apprentice, Witwer also asked for and was given the opportunity to play the role of Emperor Palpatine, which he said most people didn't know.
"That was a real fanboy thing," he said.
Since he is a lifelong fan of all things Star Wars, I asked Witwer if a video game was the right medium to choose for the newest chapter in the overall story line.
"So long as the stories are good," he answered, "I think any medium is the way to go."
One fan at the launch event who seemed inclined to agree was Ian Pugh, a 25-year-old from Porterville, Calif., who was dressed as Darth Vader's apprentice from the game.
"I'm a big Star Wars fan, and I like making outfits," Pugh said, adding that he regularly dresses up in Luke Skywalker or Boba Fett outfits at events like WorldCom or ComicCon. "I made a Clone Trooper outfit, but I didn't quite finish it."
Pugh said he tends to be a fan of everything Star Wars and added, "I think (the game) is going to be good. Even the bad Star Wars games, I like."
Another fan, Alan Morales, a 35-year-old from Fairfield, Calif., had also come to the Best Buy to be among the first to purchase The Force Unleashed.

He got an autograph from Witwer and co-star Adrienne Wikinson, and said, "Oh, yeah, you know it," when asked if he was going to go straight home to play the game.
"It's not a movie, but it has to do with the story in general," Morales said. "It pieces together certain parts you don't know of the story."
He added that he'd been a Star Wars fan since moving to the United States as a kid from Guatemala, and said that from what he'd heard about the game, "it's a big turning point for Star Wars."
Throughout the evening, fans like Morales and Pugh mingled with people hired to play various Star Wars characters. There were R2-D2s, and every now and then you would hear the iconic beep and bloops of an R2-D2.
But maybe my favorite moment of the evening was seeing a man putting on his Chewbacca outfit outside the store.
I started to take his picture, and he asked if I wanted him to put on the beast's head first.
No, I told him. At an event like this, it's better to know that, in fact, there is a human underneath the fur.

youre sitting @ home, (you own a ps3 of course), and your friend calls up or messeges you online saying "Hey, I'm about to watch this movie we were talking about the other day..you wanna watch?"

So you're boot up your PS3 (or possibly you'd be on already)..go over to "his home" (in the PS3 Virtual World) and watch a flick on your TV from his system...

BADASS right?...well Sony doesn't think so anymore..
